Nursing Tables / Changing Tables (“Komfortka”)

Nursing Tables / Changing Tables (“Komfortka”)

Conceptual design of washing and changing tables – “komfortka” – available in the following versions:

  • Stationary: Wall-mounted with electric height adjustment for the mattress platform (one- or two-segment), available with or without a drainage system.
  • Mobile: Equipped with individual wheel locks and electric height adjustment for the mattress platform (one- or two-segment), available with or without a drainage system.

The objective of the project was to expand the client’s product portfolio.

General Design Assumptions

Nursing tables, often integrated into multifunctional Changing Places stations, are practical solutions designed to prevent back pain for caregivers. They provide a comfortable, dedicated space for hygiene for individuals with severe disabilities, chronic illnesses, the elderly, or those with bariatric needs.

Technology and Material Suggestions:

The construction utilizes painted structural steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components. Parts are joined via welding or standardized fasteners. All utilized materials are widely available, well-tested, and pose no direct hazard to either the staff or the patient.

Design Suggestions:
  • The product design focuses on ensuring ergonomics for all users. Every applied solution is driven by the goal of achieving maximum functionality.
  • The individual products belong to a single family characterized by a consistent aesthetic and, where possible, the use of shared structural components.
  • An original visual effect is achieved through common manufacturing technologies: laser cutting, profile bending, and steel sheet metal work, joined by welding. Guided by the principles of sustainability, the use of plastics and environmentally “expensive” materials is strictly limited.
  • The stylistic elements serve to create a product that stands out within its class. The goal is to strengthen the brand identity, highlighting the company’s commitment to user care and its recognition of the importance of high-quality design.
  • The product’s construction is designed to allow for easy cleaning and disinfection.
