LM-01 Delivery Beds, LM-02 Delivery Chair

LM-01.03 Delivery Bed. This was my first project completed as part of a multidisciplinary engineering design team at Famed Żywiec S.A.

General Design Premises for the LM-01.3 Delivery Bed

The new version of the bed was based on the construction of the LM-01.0 delivery bed, which featured manual adjustment of the mattress platform segments and hydraulic adjustment of the platform height.

The LM-01.3 bed features:

• Electrical adjustment of the height and backrest angle via electric actuators.
• A bed base covered with an ABS plastic shroud manufactured using thermoforming technology.
• Side rails and bed ends manufactured using thermoforming technology, with handles made of foamed polyurethane.
• A control panel integrated into the side rails.
• A supervisor control panel retractable under the mattress platform at the head end of the bed.

The bed is designed for patients in obstetric and gynecological wards during all stages of childbirth: prenatal, labor, and postpartum periods.

Subsequent Versions of the LM-01 Delivery Bed

Further versions of the product were developed:

• LM-01.5 (featuring LM-01.3 styling) with manual adjustment of the mattress platform segments and hydraulic height control.
• A conceptual design utilizing plastic side rails and bed ends manufactured using blow molding technology (unified with the LE-12 VIGO bed).
• A conceptual design utilizing newly designed plastic side rails and bed ends manufactured using blow molding technology.

Design Outcomes and Achievements

The success of the design was demonstrated by the commercial triumph of the LM-01 delivery bed in Far Eastern markets. Trade partners of Famed Żywiec S.A. successfully sold this product in countries including China and South Korea.

LM-02 Delivery Chair with Bed Position Capability

The chair consists of two components:

• zA gynecological chair on a mobile base with a central braking system, featuring electric column-driven height adjustment and electric actuator-driven angle adjustment of the mattress platform segments.
• A trolley with electric column-driven height adjustment, which can function independently as a procedural table for medical staff.
